Anatomy and Physiology

Overview: This Anatomy and Physiology course is designed to explore the structure and function of the different major homeostatic systems in the human body. Other topics covered will include history of the science, disease, medicine and medical careers. Students will be expected to work independently and cooperatively, inside and outside the classroom.

 Materials: 3 ring binder, folder and 1 box of colored pencils

Grade Weighting: Tests and Quizzes          50 %
                        Labs/Class activities       30%
                        Homework/Projects         20%
                      

Quizzes will be short, usually multiple choice and will be given weekly. Tests will be comprised of a multiple choice and a free response part II and will be given per body system unit. A cumulative midterm and final exam will be given. Several labs will be performed per unit in class and finished at home if necessary. Homework is only accepted on the due dated at the beginning of class unless the student was absent. Missed work will be made up within a reasonable period set by the teacher upon the student's return to school.
