Living Environment

Welcome the The Living Environment. This is a full year lab course.  We will be covering the following topics:

1. Biology basics and the scientific method

2. Cell biology and Biochemistry

3. Evolution

4. Reproduction

5. Genetics

6. Homeostasis-Body systems

7. Ecology

8. Human Impact

You will be required to take a New York State Regents in June. 1200 minutes of laboratory time is required to take the exam. This is also a graduation requirement. Labs cannot be made up in summer school and the course will have to be repeated.

We will be using 2 books this year: The Biology textbook which will stay in class and be brought home as needed and the Living Environment Regents Review book. 

Grades are broken down as follows:

Homework -Class participation 15%

Quizzes 15%

Labs 20%

Tests 50%
