AP Studio Art: 2D, 3D, & Drawing

 

Course Description

       This is a college level course intended for advanced art students only.  The “exam” is a portfolio that is submitted in May for review by the Collegeboard.  The artwork that comprises this portfolio is created throughout the year based on the specifications set out by the AP Collegeboard and outlined in the AP Studio in Art Poster.   Students will develop mastery in concept, composition, and execution of idea as it relates to the demands of the different portfolio sections, which includes: Quality, Concentration and Breadth. 

 

Section I- Quality (5 artworks): Artwork showing mastery of design, the highest level of achievement

 

Section II- Concentration (12 artworks): A body of related works describing an in-depth exploration of a particular artistic concern

 

Section III-Breadth (12 artworks): A broad scope of artwork showing evidence of conceptual, perceptual, expressive, and technical range.
