The Digital Media Library is provided to us, through BOCES, to support classroom instruction. It is for teacher use only.
First Time Using the Digital Media Library?
Use the user name
and password that was sent to you on email. If you didn’t receive
call or email Nancy in the Library and she provide you with them (x6631)
On the upper left select, “search” This will take you into the WebMax catalog.
In the text box, enter your search, e.g. global warming, etc.
Scroll through your list. Select the stream that interests you.
If you select a United Streaming/Discovery link and are prompted for a registration go ahead and fill it out. This will only happen once. When you login again you will be able to access the stream automatically.
If you are prompted for a player, e.g. Windows Media Player is used by most, QuickTime is popular with Mac users, Real Player can be used by either, as well as Flash. Make sure you have the latest version of the player you want to use.
Don’t narrow your
search on the first try. If you find you are getting too many hits,
return to the search screen and select Go to an Advanced Search. You can then search by grade level. This should narrow your search significantly and help you
zero in on what you really want.
If you want to
save any of the streams, you may burn them to a cd. The only exception
are National Geographic streams.
If you have questions, concerns, or have forgotten your login please email or call me at X6631.
