Literature Resource Center -"Comprehensive, biographical and critical information on more than 122,000 authors." Use this site for a look at some of the more contemporary authors.

Twaynes's Author Series- View full text discussions of some of the more "classic" author's works and chronologies of their lives.

The Internet Public Library- Managed by students at the Univ. of Michigan, "The IPL Literary Criticism Collection contains critical and biographical websites about authors and their works that can be browsed by author, by title, or by nationality and literary period."

Go to www.ipl.org   Scroll down to Special Collections on left, then select Literary Criticism.

Victorian Web- This online site at Brown University serves as a resource for courses in Victorian literature.

Select Authors from blue box (to the left of the coins) in the center of the page.  Scroll down to find your author from this list. Otherwise scrolll down and see some Pre-Victorians or Some Post Victorians on bottom of list on right.
