Comprehensive and well organized site that offers rich images and concise historical context for artists and art movements.  All the artists listed for your assignment are on this website.

 

 

MUSEUMS

• The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Met houses works of numerous French artists.  To find works by a specific artist, use the advanced search feature.  The results are divided by collection, with most of the works located in ‘European Paintings.’ 

 

Works by all the assigned artists are included in the Met’s permanent collection with the number of works in parenthesis... Degas (51), Gauguin (10), van Gogh (163), Manet (26), Monet (41), Morisot (3), Pissarro (20), Renoir (23), Toulouse-Lautrec (10), & Seurat (8).  The search feature can also be used to search for a specific work.
