To determine how your Representative & Senators voted on a specific bill check out the following...
For the US House of Representatives, the Office of the Clerk maintains information on voting records. Under the 'Quick Links' section, look for 'Roll Call Votes.'
For the US Senate: click on the Legislation & Records tab along the top. Look for 'Roll Call Votes.' There is also a section on how to find legislation/bill number & active legislation arranged by subject.
The Center for Responsive Politics maintains a database on lobby groups & related financial information regarding
Sourcewatch also maintains financial information on numerous interest groups.
Another way to determine how much a group is spending is to do a web search for the organization + "yearly budget" or "annual report" (keep those phrases in quotes to get accurate results) & look at the breakdown of financial information.
Almost all organizations/lobby groups maintain a website to disseminate information. On the website look for specific information concerning their activities under sections such as ‘About Us,’ ‘Facts & Stats,’ ‘Take Action,’ ‘Politics’ or ‘Issues’ sections that will have most of the information required for your assignment. Links to these sections are usually found at the top or bottom of the opening page.
