When researching your particular country within the Middle East, be sure to use these helpful resources with the Virtual Reference Collection that I showed you last week. Remember you are required to hand in a Works Cited page with your poster & journal. Each of these databases supply the citation information for each resource you've used! The MLA citation appears at the bottom of the page and the end of each article or diagram. Here's the link to the VRC

Take an orange book mark (avail at the library's front desk) for a reminder of the username and password you'll need to access the collection!

Under the History and Geography column left side;

Culture Grams - This site will give you links to a great deal of statistical information & pictures from around the country. Be sure to link to and check out the photo gallery on right side.You are required to provide six pictures. Will be most helpful for questions 1 & 2. Look for some tidbit of information that stands out as being unique to your country- something that'll be interesting to your peers!

ABC- Clio World History/Modern Era- for more information about your particular middle eastern country, type it in by name into the search box on the top right side. See links to Maps, Flags and factual articles.

For Current Event Articles there are two specific sites that'll be most helpful;

Facts.com World News Digest -Type in your country by name. Be sure to sort results by date if the articles seem to be a bit old.

Finally - still w/in the VRC....

Scroll down and look under the Magazines and Newspapers column-

see General One File it's the 5th selection down.

Search by subject, then type in your country.

Look at results-what's happening in your country politically?

Look at content types on left side. You can filter (limit) your results to just books, magazines, journals, newspapers or images on the left. You want current events -try to find articles that were written within the last few months!
