English 9

       

     Since literature mirrors life, this year, while reading a wealth of captivating literature and examining characters' journeys, students will contemplate their own journeys as well.  Simultaneously, students will be studying the elements of fiction and applying them to literature.  In addition, student writing will be enhanced through literature-based essays, personal memoirs and informative and explanatory essays which are preparation for the Common Core English Regents, which will be administered in their junior year. You have an exciting year ahead of you and I look forward to sharing it with you.

     Supplies for English class:  3 ring binder with 5 dividers (vocabulary, literature, grammar/usage, poetry, misc.), pencils, pens, highlighter, planner and your ChromeBook.

        Under English 9 in the tool bar, you will find "Weekly Homework," click there for all homework assignments which are also announced in class (This is useful when you are absent.)
